Jameson Irish Whiskey Coffee


  • 4 oz strong coffee or espresso
  • 1 ½ oz Jameson Irish Whiskey
  • 2 tsp sugar
  • 2 oz heavy cream
  • In a mixing bowl, add heavy cream and whisk until soft peaks form.
  • Add 1 tsp sugar and mix until dissolved.
  • Set aside.


  1. Prepare coffee using desired method (French press works well, just make it strong).
  2. Add water to a small sauce pot and bring to simmer.
  3. Add hot water (reserving some in the sauce pot) to a footed mug, or your vessel of choice to preheat the glass.
  4. Pour 1 ½ oz Jameson Irish Whiskey into a shot glass and place the shot glass into the hot water to heat the whiskey.
  5. Discard the hot water from the mug and pour in the hot coffee and whiskey.
  6. Stir in 1 tspn sugar until dissolved.
  7. Top with lightly whipped cream and serve immediately.

Note: Notice that an effort is made to ensure that the cocktail is served hot and stays hot. It is very important to preheat the glass and to heat the whiskey or the heat will quickly dissipate. The whipped cream is whipped soft so that it slowly melts into the drink. If it’s over-whipped it will remain on top without incorporating into the coffee drink.
