Chocolate Crackles


  • 4 cups crispy rice cereal
  • 1 cup vegetable shortening or margarine
  • 1 cup confectioners' sugar, sifted
  • 3 Tablespoons cocoa


  1. Melt the shortening in a large saucepan over low heat or in a microwave oven.
  2. Add crispy rice cereal, confectioners' sugar, and cocoa to the saucepan.
  3. Spoon mixture into paper cupcake holders.
  4. Chill for 12 to 24 hours in the refrigerator.
Makes 24 treats.
